The Transaction Line Editor (TLE) is the heart of the quoting experience in Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced (RCA).

Out of the box, it displays the same set of buttons and columns for every quote type, but in practice, different quote types often need different sets of fields, similar to how we used different Field Sets in CPQ for new business, renewals, and amendments.

In this post, we’ll walk through two quick ways to customize the TLE layout:

  1. How to remove or keep only selected buttons in the TLE.
  2. How to show different columns or fields depending on the quote type (e.g., show Uplift % only for renewals).

Controlling Action Buttons

Admins can now customize the buttons displayed in the Transaction Line Editor directly from the Lightning App Builder:

  1. Open any Quote record.
  2. Click ⚙️ → Edit Page to open the Lightning App Builder.
  3. Select the Transaction Line Editor component on the page.
  4. In the right-hand panel, scroll to the Action Buttons section.
  5. In this box, list only the buttons you want to keep. Use API Names (not labels), separated by commas. Example: BulkDelete, RepriceAll
  6. Click Save and Activate the page.

With this, you can control exactly which actions appear to users, reducing clutter and helping teams focus on what matters.

Showing Different Columns per Quote Type

Different quote types often require different fields. For instance, renewal quotes may need to show Uplift %, while new business quotes don’t.

You can configure this behavior using component visibility filters in the Lightning App Builder:

  1. In Edit Page mode, add another instance of the Transaction Line Editor.
  2. Configure the first TLE component with your standard columns for new business: Product, Quantity, Sales Price, Net Unit Price, etc.
  3. Configure the second TLE with renewal-specific fields (e.g., Uplift %).
  4. Under Set Component Visibility, add filters:
    1. First editor: Quote Type ≠ Renewal
    2. Second editor: Quote Type = Renewal
  5. Click Save and Activate.

Now, depending on the Quote Type field, users see only the fields relevant to that quote keeping the experience clean, contextual, and intuitive.

With just a few clicks in the Lightning App Builder, you can tailor the Transaction Line Editor to match your quote types and sales processes. Whether you’re simplifying actions for new business or surfacing renewal-specific metrics like Uplift %, this setup keeps your RCA experience intuitive and aligned with how your teams actually sell.
